Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy

What is manual therapy?

The focus in the manual therapy is based on finding a solution for movement related problems. Manual therapy will be used in functional disorders of the joints, muscles, tendons and/or nerves. Movement restrictions are often found in combination with pain and limited range of movement of the joints. This has again an influence on the posture of the body.

The objective of manual therapy is on one hand to increase the range of movement of the joints/soft tissue and on the other hand to improve the posture of the body and its mobility. The physiotherapist will use special techniques for the mobilisation of the joints/soft tissue. The treatment program includes also good advice/instructions, support and insight into healthy movement and posture.

Manual therapy is often used in combination with an exercise programme that leads to a faster recovery.
