Forearm, wrist and hand pain: physiotherapy in Le Grand-Saconnex
The wrist is a complex group of joints connecting the forearm, consisting of the radius and ulna, to the hand. The hand contains eight carpal bones, five metacarpals and the phalanges of the five fingers.
The wrist needs sufficient mobility to allow a wide range of hand movements. It must also provide stability and contribute to grip strength. Many movements of the hand and fingers are controlled by muscles in the forearm, whose tendons pass through the wrist.
Wrist and hand conditions may result from an accident or injury, particularly after a fall onto the hand. They may also be associated with a medical condition, chronic overloading or repetitive movements.

Consultation and treatment
During your first physiotherapy session, we begin with a discussion and an examination of your forearm, wrist, hand and fingers, as well as other joints if necessary.
We then explain your condition, offer advice and present your treatment plan. At Physio Santé Fit in Le Grand-Saconnex, wrist and hand physiotherapy is tailored to your situation.
Treatment may include manual therapy, therapeutic massage, fasciatherapy or lymphatic drainage. Mobility exercises and stretching aim to restore movement and flexibility in the wrist and hand.
We also guide you through therapeutic exercises to improve strength, motor control and proprioception in the wrist, hand and fingers.
